Labelary alternatives
Labelary is a widely used ZPL rendering API. If you are comparing it with other options, these are the realistic choices, and what each is suited to.
Competitor details last verified 15 October 2026. arkalabel is one of the options listed, so read this as a guide written by one of the vendors, and check the other services' own pages.
arkalabel
Renders ZPL to PNG, PDF, TIFF, JPEG or GIF, with the same free-tier rate limits and densities as Labelary, a separate barcode API with 34 symbologies, and zero data retention on every plan.
LabelZoom
A broader converter: ZPL, EPL, TSPL, DPL, IPL and SBPL, plus PDF and images, with official SDKs in eight languages. Its free tier is watermarked.
Labelary On-Premise
If the constraint is that label data must not leave your network, Labelary lists an on-premise plan, sold by contacting its sales team.
A self-hosted renderer
Running a renderer inside your own infrastructure gives you full control of retention and uptime, at the cost of operating and updating it yourself. arkalabel also offers an on-premise plan.
How to choose
- Which output formats you need: images and PDF, or another printer language.
- Your peak requests per second and per day, against each plan's limits.
- Whether label data may be retained by the provider, and on which plans.
- How many labels you send in one request, and the request-size limit.
- Whether you also need a barcode API, an official SDK or an uptime SLA.
Try your own labels in the online ZPL viewer before committing to an integration, and use the side-by-side pages to compare figures.
