Terms of service

These terms are between you and ARKAYI AI & CONSULTING PRIVATE LIMITED, of B114 Sector 64 Noida, Noida Sector 62, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India - 201309(“we”), and apply to your use of the arkalabel website and API. By using the API, creating or using an API key, or paying for a plan, you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.

arkalabel renders ZPL label source to images and PDFs, and generates barcodes, over an HTTP API. It is a rendering service: it does not print, ship, or transmit anything to a carrier. One API key covers both the label and the barcode endpoints, and both count against the same allowance.

Rendered output is an accurate representation of what you submitted to the extent documented, but it is not a substitute for validating a physical label on the printer and scanner you will actually use. Supported and unsupported commands are listed in the docs, and unsupported commands are skipped with a warning rather than failing the render, so a label may render successfully while omitting a symbol your carrier requires. A barcode that encodes correctly may still fail to scan if it is printed too small or with poor contrast. Check the warnings and test before you rely on a label.

A key is shown once, when it is issued, and cannot be recovered; we store only a hash of it. Keep your keys secret. You are responsible for all use under them, and for telling us promptly if one is exposed so it can be replaced.

Plans, their prices and their limits are those shown on the pricing page when you buy. Each plan allows a number of requests per day and per second; a request over a limit is answered with HTTP 429 and is not fulfilled. The free tier needs no key and is rate limited rather than metered.

Prices are in US dollars. Payment is taken through Razorpay, and we do not see or store your card or bank details. Applicable taxes, including GST where it applies, are charged as the law requires. A plan is paid for the period you buy, runs to the end of it, and then stops; nothing renews or is charged again unless you buy again.

Cancellation and refunds are covered by our cancellation and refund policy, which forms part of these terms. How and when your plan is delivered is set out in the delivery policy.

• Do not use the service to produce counterfeit carrier labels or postage.
• Do not use it to produce anything unlawful, or to generate barcodes or codes intended to deceive or defraud.
• Do not attempt to exceed your plan's limits by circumventing rate limiting or key checks, or to disrupt the service for others.
• Do not resell access to the API as a standalone service without our written agreement.

We may suspend or disable a key that breaks these rules, or that threatens the service, and will tell you why where we can.

You keep all rights in what you send. You give us only the permission needed to process it and return the result. We do not keep it, as the privacy policy explains. You are responsible for having the right to submit it, and for what it contains.

We work to keep the service running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or retire features, with notice where we reasonably can. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, including loss from a label that was rendered, printed or scanned incorrectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or, if you have paid nothing, to INR 1,000. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

These terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the service, are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and you and we both submit to them.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and a change that is material to existing customers will be flagged here before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the updated terms. Questions about them go to contact@arkalabel.io.
